SOS Youth Conducts A Corporate Immersion At TaskUs BGC
Jay and Benedict are both calmly looking out the window, opposite from the busy morning rush they see outside. They were on their way to TaskUs at Bonifacio Global City early morning of December 27 along with their SOS brothers and sisters to conduct their corporate immersion and career orientation.
Most of the SOS youth are still not decided on their desired profession, and the talk inspired them all to look at their future careers with enthusiasm rather than distress, just like Jay* who is 17 years old and is currently in grade 8. He was relieved of the pressure that comes with choosing career paths when he heard Ms. She’s testimony. Jay realized that there’s no need to rush to find his interest and passion as Ms. She worked in the hotel and restaurants industry for 10 years before she discovered her new found love in working at TaskUs.
Benedict*, on the other hand, is about to turn 14 years old and has already figured out the career path he’d like to take which is Marine Transportation. Joining the corporate immersion made him learn the value of hardwork. He was inspired by Ms. Kaye who shared her story of success – from regular employee to team leader in just a short amount of time. She quoted, “there are no limits to what you can accomplish except the limits you place on your own thinking,” and that encouraged Benedict to continue to reach his dream.
For the longest time, supporters come to SOS to immerse themselves and see how our kids live in the village. Now, our young adults got the chance to see how adults work in a corporate environment, and be inspired by hardworking and ambitious employees.
