SOS Children’s Village In Manila Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Music
On June 22, 2018, SOS Children’s Village in Manila celebrated its 30th Anniversary by holding a mini concert featuring SOS children and youth, and the Manila String Machine at SOS Children’s Village in Manila, Ayala Alabang Village.
Mr. Raymond Rimando, the Village Director of SOS Children’s Village in Manila shared that the main reason for this event, aside from celebrating the quality provision of long-term Family Care of the village to abandoned and neglected children, is to enable SOS children and youth to enhance and share their talents to our fervent supporters, and to allow them to express their happiness and sincere gratitude to all the generous people who are committed in providing every child in need with a loving home and a nurturing family.
One of the highlights of the event is the Manila String Machine serenading the children with their string orchestra performance. Some of the songs covered by the talented ensemble are “Let It go” by Idina Menzel, “Flaslight” by Jessie J and “Treasure” by Bruno Mars. The SOS children also rendered their performances inspired by one of the biggest movies this year, “The Greatest Showman.” They took the stage and sung “A Million Dreams” by Ziv Zaifman, Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams, and danced to “This Is Me” by Keala Settle under a spotlight.
