Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City – Last October, hearts were opened as SOS Children's Villages Philippines celebrated its 50 years in service with a fundraising event that was fun, artistic, and for a good cause.

"Art Exhibit for A Cause" was launched on October 24, 2017, 2PM, at Upper Ground Floor, Home Zone, Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City. This event was implemented to present the programs & initiatives of SOS Children’s Villages Philippines and to increase public awareness about the reality of abandoned and neglected Filipino children.

On this event, artworks from local artists were exhibited and sold to generate funds for the benefit of SOS children. In every piece sold, we can provide a nurturing family and a loving home to children who have lost parental care.

Present at the exhibit launch and ribbon cutting ceremony were the SOS children and workers, local artists from the independent group Kapatiran at Ugnayan ng Natatanging Sining at Talentong Pilipino (KUNST), Mr. Joseph Rosal of Max’s Group Inc. who provided our guests and artists with free Yellow Cab pizzas, Atty. Sylvia Marasigan of Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, Mr. Rosalio Valenzuela and Ms. Barbs Atienza-Soliven of Herbalife Nutrition Philippines who were the first ones to buy paintings right after the official opening of the exhibit, and Mr. Romil Rayos Del Sol, the Deputy National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Philippines.

Artworks created by the members of KUNST like Rene Robles, an internationally exhibited artist with over 70 solo exhibitions in Europe, USA and Asia, and Aris Bagtas, a visual artist and sculptor genius of his generation, were exhibited along with the artworks of other local artists who are considered among the best in today's generation.

Celebrities such Myrtle Sarrosa, and Sarah Carlos also supported the event by donating pre-loved items that are still up for sale until December 31, 2017.

“Art Exhibit for a Cause” ended last October 29, 2017 but the artworks are still available for purchase and for viewing at the website of SOS Children’s Villages Philippines until December 31, 2017. To view the artworks, go to
